The Mountain Area Plan is a roadmap to guide future development of settlements in the Mountain Area of Tulare County and ensure that growth is orderly and compatible with the vision of area residents.
The Area Plan is an extension of the Tulare County General Plan required by the State of California Office of Planning and Research.
An area plan sets forth goals, objectives, policies, and programs to address specific issues related to a particular area.
This is an update to the Tulare County Mountain Area which has not been updated since 1986. The Mountain area of Tulare County covers the eastern end of the county, from the ridges of the Sierra Nevada mountains to the foothills. The Area contains such communities as Three Rivers, Camp Nelson, Badger, Wilsonia, and Silver City, among others.
There are multiple opportunities for residents to participate in the planning process. Check the webpage regularly for updates on meeting information and flyers.
